Nottingham Forest made a dream start under new manager Vitor Pereira, beating Fenerbahce away in the first leg of their Europa League play-off.
Forest dominated the match and recorded their biggest ever away win in European competition. Defender Murillo opened the scoring with a powerful long-range strike, before Igor Jesus headed in his seventh goal of the campaign — breaking Garry Birtles’ long-standing club record for most goals in a single European season.
After the break, Morgan Gibbs-White added a third to cap a superb performance.
Forest now head into the second leg at the City Ground as strong favourites to reach the last 16, where Midtjylland or Real Betis await.
