
Hull Kingston Rovers held off a huge second-half comeback from Brisbane Broncos to win the World Club Challengein front of 24,000 fans at the MKM Stadium.
The Super League champions stunned the NRL winners with a dominant first half, racing into a 30-4 lead thanks to tries from Tom Amone, Elliot Minchella, Joe Burgess, Oliver Gildart and Peta Hiku, with Mikey Lewis pulling the strings.
But Brisbane hit back with four quick tries after the break, including two from Gehamat Shibasaki, to set up a tense finish.
Despite the pressure, Hull KR held firm to become only the sixth English club to lift the trophy since 1987.
