Interim manager Martin O’Neill hopes Celtic will get their full ticket allocation for the Scottish Cup quarter-final against Rangers at Ibrox next month. Under the rules, away teams can claim up to 20% of tickets, which is more than 10,000 at Ibrox, but both clubs and the police must agree on a designated away section.
Traditionally, around 7,500 Celtic fans filled the Broomloan Stand, but the allocation has been reduced in recent years. O’Neill said it would be “fantastic” to see a large Celtic crowd back at Govan, adding that a full allocation would restore some of the atmosphere of one of the world’s great fixtures.
O’Neill also revealed that new signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could make his Celtic debut against Livingston on Wednesday, and key defender Kieran Tierney could be available despite a suspected broken nose.
