San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Keion White has undergone surgery after being shot in the ankle. The incident happened early Monday morning and the injury is not life-threatening or expected to end his career. Police are still investigating and no arrests have been made.
White, 27, had attended the Super Bowl on Sunday and joined the 49ers in 2025 after being traded from the New England Patriots. He made 11 appearances last season, including the play-offs.
Since being drafted in 2023, White has played 47 NFL games, starting 20, and recorded 100 tackles, 7.5 sacks, nine passes defended and two forced fumbles. He is the second 49ers player to be shot in the past 18 months, following team-mate Ricky Pearsall.
