Manchester City have signed Ghana international Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in a £65m deal, a record sale for the Cherries. Semenyo, 26, has signed a contract until 2031 and will wear the number 42 shirt, once worn by Yaya Toure.

Semenyo scored a stoppage-time winner in his final game for Bournemouth and has been in excellent form, with 10 Premier League goals this season. He joins City after beating competition from Manchester United, Liverpool, Spurs, and Chelsea.

City manager Pep Guardiola praised Semenyo as versatile and experienced in the Premier League, saying his best years are ahead. Director of football Hugo Viana added that Semenyo’s pace, power, and work ethic make him an ideal fit for City.

Semenyo began his career in the Championship with Bristol City, had loan spells at Sunderland, Newport County, and Bath City, and scored 32 goals in 110 appearances for Bournemouth. The winger says he is proud to join City and believes his best football is still to come.
