The Seattle Seahawks will play the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60 after winning their conference finals on Sunday.
Seattle booked their place with a dramatic 31-27 win over the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship. Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold and Rams star Matt Stafford both threw three touchdown passes in a high-scoring game, but Seattle held on late to seal victory.
In the AFC Championship, defence took centre stage as the Patriots beat the Denver Broncos 10-7 in heavy snow. Quarterback Drake Maye scored New England’s only touchdown with a run, sending the Patriots to their 12th Super Bowl and their first since 2019, when Tom Brady was still with the team.
Super Bowl 60 will be a repeat of the 2015 final, which the Patriots won 28-24 against the Seahawks. This will be Seattle’s fourth Super Bowl appearance, with their only title coming in 2014.
The game will be played on Sunday, 8 February, in Santa Clara, California, at the San Francisco 49ers’ stadium.
