World champion Luke Littler was knocked out of the Bahrain Masters quarter-finals by Gerwyn Price, bringing his 21-match winning streak to an end. It is the second year in a row Price has beaten Littler at this stage of the tournament.

The 19-year-old had not lost a match since October, a run that saw him become world number one and win several major titles, including the PDC World Championship. He impressed earlier in the tournament but could not maintain that level in the quarter-final.

Littler missed key chances and lost 6-2, averaging 94.04 compared to Price’s 97.43. The Welshman took control early and finished the match strongly to book his place in the semi-finals.

Elsewhere, former world champion Luke Humphries was beaten 6-3 by Nathan Aspinall. Price will now face Michael van Gerwen in the semi-finals, while Aspinall meets Gian van Veen.
