Substitute Michael Olise stole the show as Bayern Munich came from behind to beat RB Leipzig, keeping their unbeaten Bundesliga record intact.
Leipzig, fourth in the table, led 1-0 at half-time thanks to a 20th-minute strike from Romulo Cruz. Bayern equalised five minutes into the second half through Serge Gnabry, but it was Olise’s introduction in the 56th minute that turned the game around.
The France winger assisted Harry Kane, Jonathan Tah, and Aleksandar Pavlovic before scoring Bayern’s fifth goal two minutes from time, completing a sensational second-half performance.
Bayern manager Vincent Kompany had started Olise on the bench, preparing for a busy schedule of three games in six days. Despite dominating the first half with nine shots and an expected goals (xG) of 2.03, Leipzig couldn’t extend their lead after Cruz’s opener.
After Gnabry’s equaliser, Olise provided three assists in just 34 minutes, helping Bayern pull away late and move 11 points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund.
