Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe believes his team can still achieve “great things” in the Premier League despite financial rules limiting spending. Newcastle, with the eighth-biggest wage bill, have already challenged the norm, qualifying for the Champions League in 2023 and 2025.
Howe stressed that success comes on the pitch, not from money, and that Newcastle aim to overperform their resources to compete with wealthier clubs like Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
While Newcastle’s net transfer spend has been lower than rivals and some top targets have gone elsewhere, Howe remains confident his squad can challenge the league’s status quo and finish as high as possible this season.
