Ndiaye’s Goal takes Senegal into the Afcon Semi-finals

0

A simple first-half goal from Iliman Ndiaye helped Senegal beat Mali and reach the Afcon semi-finals. The Everton forward scored from close range after the Mali goalkeeper failed to deal with a low cross.

Mali were reduced to 10 men just before half-time when captain Yves Bissouma was sent off, making their task even harder. Senegal controlled much of the match but missed several chances to increase their lead, while goalkeeper Edouard Mendy made key saves to keep Mali out.

Mali’s poor discipline proved costly once again, as they exit the tournament without a win. Senegal will now wait to see who they face next, with Egypt and Ivory Coast meeting to decide their semi-final opponents.
