Manchester City made light work of Galatasaray to sneak into the top eight of the Champions League.
After their shock loss to Bodo/Glimt, Pep Guardiola’s side avoided a tricky play-off thanks to a comfortable win over Galatasaray and Benfica’s late victory over Real Madrid.
City should have taken the lead early, but Erling Haaland missed a header before scoring with a clever finish from Jeremy Doku’s pass. Rayan Cherki added a second after Doku set him up, though Doku went off injured in the first half.
Galatasaray’s best chances came from Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen, but Gianluigi Donnarumma kept the clean sheet.
