Non-league Macclesfield pulled off one of the biggest FA Cup shocks ever by knocking out holders Crystal Palace with a deserved win.
Despite being ranked 117 places below the Premier League side, Macclesfield matched Palace throughout the match. Paul Dawson headed the hosts into the lead in the first half, before Isaac Buckley-Ricketts scored again after the break to put Palace in serious trouble.
Palace pulled one back late on through Yeremy Pino’s free-kick, but Macclesfield held firm to seal a famous victory. The result is the biggest upset in FA Cup history based on league positions and continues Palace’s poor run of form.
