Lukas Nmecha came off the bench to score a 91st-minute winner as Leeds United ended Fulham’s six-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.
The Cottagers struggled to create chances and paid the price when Nmecha finished a cross from captain Ethan Ampadu for the only goal of the game. Leeds dominated the second half and deserved the win, moving eight points clear of the relegation zone, while 18th-placed West Ham pulled off a surprise win at Tottenham.
The first half at Elland Road was cautious, with Fulham boss Marco Silva receiving a yellow card for dissent—the loudest cheer of the half from the home fans. Leeds had chances through Brenden Aaronson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin but failed to score before halftime. James Justin and Aaronson also had efforts saved, while Fulham’s Emile Smith Rowe missed a long-range shot.
Leeds finally broke through in injury time, with Nmecha scoring just 10 minutes after coming on. After 22 games, Leeds sit 16th with 25 points, while Fulham remain 10th with 31 points.
