Hearts stretched their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to six points after a tough win over struggling Livingston at Tynecastle. After Rangers beat Celtic earlier in the day, Derek McInnes’ team needed a strong result to pull ahead in the title race.
Hearts dominated the first half, firing off 15 shots and keeping Livingston goalkeeper Jerome Prior busy with several saves and blocks. Tomas Magnusson missed a close-range chance, and Claudio Braga’s shot even hit the post. The only goal came from Craig Halkett, who headed in a perfect cross from debutant Jordi Altena.
Livingston improved after the break, with striker Tete Yengi seeing three good chances stopped by Hearts’ keeper Alexander Schwolow. Despite a nervous finish, Hearts held on to claim the win and recover from their recent derby defeat, while Livingston remain bottom of the table, four points from safety, suffering their eighth narrow loss of the season.
