Uganda forward Rogers Mato has agreed a pre-contract deal to join Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts this summer from North Macedonian club Vardar.
The 22-year-old has been in great form this season, scoring 15 goals and providing two assists in 17 games. He will sign a three-year contract that starts in July when his current deal expires.
Mato has eight goals in 41 appearances for Uganda since making his international debut in 2022, including a goal at the recent Africa Cup of Nations. He began his career in Uganda with Proline and KCCA, moved to Turkey with Sanliurfaspor in 2023, and later joined AP Brera before switching to Vardar last year.
Vardar currently top the North Macedonian league, one point ahead of Struga.
