Gloucester have signed World Cup-winning South Africa lock Jean Kleyn for the 2026-27 season after 10 years with Munster.

Kleyn, 32, has 10 caps for the Springboks and came off the bench in their World Cup final win over New Zealand in 2023. He also represented Ireland earlier in his career during 2019-20.

Gloucester director of rugby George Skivington praised Kleyn’s experience, professionalism, and winning mentality, saying he will raise standards across the squad.

Kleyn made over 150 appearances for Munster, including winning the 2022-23 URC title, and described joining Gloucester as the perfect next step in his career.

He is the fourth confirmed signing for Gloucester next season, alongside Jac Morgan, Dewi Lake, and Dan Robson.
