Fury to return in April against Makhmudov

0

Former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury will return to the ring on 11 April, facing Arslanbek Makhmudov in the UK as he comes out of retirement once again. The fight will be shown on Netflix and will be Fury’s first bout since his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024. The 37-year-old retired a month after that loss but confirmed earlier this month that he is ready to fight again, saying his heart has always been in boxing.

Makhmudov, 36, has won 21 of his 23 fights and last beat Britain’s Dave Allen in October. Fury has not fought in the UK since December 2022, when he defeated Derek Chisora to retain the WBC title. Across his career, Fury has won 34 of 37 fights, with 24 knockouts, and has held multiple world titles, including the WBC belt. His only defeats came in back-to-back losses to Usyk last year, which Fury has said he hopes to avenge in 2025.
