Sean Dyche has criticised Nottingham Forest’s players after an “unacceptable” first-half performance in their FA Cup loss to Wrexham.
Forest, the first Premier League team in third-round action, fell behind 2-0 to their lower-league opponents. Despite fighting back to 3-3 and taking the game to extra time, they eventually lost 4-3 on penalties. Dyche said some players need to “look in the mirror” after a poor showing that he called “unacceptable to the badge.”
He praised the substitutes, including two-goal Callum Hudson-Odoi, for sparking the second-half comeback, but insisted changes were needed. “The first half lacked tempo, mentality, and intent. It was slow and methodical. That first-half group showed their hand,” he added.
Dyche’s message was clear: some players must prove they deserve to play.
