Chelsea have been charged by the FA after a bottle was thrown towards Aston Villa’s bench following their 2-1 loss at Stamford Bridge in December. The bottle, which appeared to contain water, was thrown during Villa’s celebrations after two late goals from Ollie Watkins.
The FA said Chelsea may have failed to control players or staff in the technical area after the final whistle. It is unclear whether the bottle came from the stands or the bench area. Chelsea are investigating the incident but have not commented publicly.
