Martin O’Neill marked his first game back in charge by guiding Celtic to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Dundee United, moving the club to second in the Scottish Premiership, just three points behind leaders Hearts.
After a heavy Old Firm defeat last weekend, O’Neill lifted Celtic’s spirits. Yang Hyun-jun opened the scoring with a deflected strike, and Arne Engels doubled the lead soon after. In the second half, Benjamin Nygren and Daizen Maedacompleted the scoring.
Dundee United struggled to respond, leaving them in seventh place, while Celtic leapfrogged Rangers in the table ahead of the weekend’s fixtures.
