Celtic vs Stuttgart & Forest vs Fenerbahce

0

Celtic will play Stuttgart, and Nottingham Forest will face Fenerbahce in two-legged Europa League play-offs to reach the last 16.

Celtic could have been drawn against Hungarian side Ferencvaros, managed by Robbie Keane, but will now meet the Bundesliga club. The first leg will be at Celtic Park, and the winners will face either Porto — who beat Celtic in the 2003 UEFA Cup final — or Braga in the last 16.

Forest, who could have faced Greek side Panathinaikos, will meet Midtjylland or Real Betis if they get past Fenerbahce. The play-off matches are scheduled for 19 and 26 February.

Celtic secured their play-off spot with a 4-2 win over Utrecht, finishing 21st in the league phase table. Forest earned theirs with a 4-0 win against Ferencvaros, finishing 13th and getting a home tie in the second leg.

The top eight teams from the league phase — Lyon, Aston Villa, Midtjylland, Real Betis, Porto, Braga, Freiburg, and Roma — have all qualified for the last 16.

The 2026 Europa League final will be held on 20 May at Besiktas Park in Istanbul, Turkey.
