Cameroon beat South Africa 2-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon), setting up a clash with hosts Morocco. Junior Tchamadeu opened the scoring in the 34th minute after a lucky deflection in the box, and Christian Kofane added a second with a near-post header early in the second half.

South Africa pulled one back through Evidence Makgopa in the dying minutes, but Cameroon held on to secure the win. Goalkeeper Devis Epassy made key saves as the Central Africans saw out the match.

Cameroon now face Morocco in Rabat on Friday in a highly anticipated quarter-final showdown.
