Chelsea beat Champions League newcomers Pafos to keep their hopes of finishing in the top eight alive, but they had to wait until the 77th minute for the winning goal.
Midfielder Moises Caicedo scored with a diving header from a corner after reacting quickest in the box. Before that, Chelsea struggled and were close to an embarrassing result against the Cypriot side.
Enzo Fernandez had a first-half header ruled out, while Pafos nearly took the lead when Jaja hit the post during a quick counter-attack. Chelsea also missed chances, with Jorrel Hato denied by goalkeeper Jay Gorter.
After half-time, teenager Estevao Willian made an impact, lifting the crowd with a powerful volley, before Caicedo finally broke the deadlock.
Chelsea now likely need a win away to Napoli in their final game to finish in the top eight and avoid the play-offs.
