Britain’s Skupski Wins Australian Open Doubles Title

0

Great Britain’s Neal Skupski and his American partner Christian Harrison won the Australian Open men’s doubles title in their first Grand Slam tournament together. The pair beat Australian wildcards Jason Kubler and Marc Polmans in straight sets.

Skupski, 36, had only just started playing with Harrison, reaching the semi-finals in Adelaide before the Australian Open. The Liverpool-born player had previously teamed up with fellow Briton Joe Salisbury in 2025, reaching the French Open and US Open finals before Salisbury stepped away from tennis due to anxiety.

This is Skupski’s second Grand Slam men’s doubles title, having won Wimbledon in 2023 with Wesley Koolhof. It also continues Britain’s strong run in men’s doubles, with a British player winning three of the last five Grand Slam titles.
