England striker Tammy Abraham has completed a £18.25m return to Aston Villa from Besiktas, signing a four-and-a-half-year deal. The 28-year-old comes back to England for the first time since joining Roma in 2021, having previously helped Villa earn promotion during a loan spell in 2018-19.

Villa manager Unai Emery, seeking support for Ollie Watkins, welcomed Abraham’s return. As part of the deal, teenager Yasin Ozcan, on loan at Anderlecht, will join Besiktas. Abraham expressed his excitement, saying he is “ready to work and give everything” after growing as a player and a man.

Roberto Olabe, Villa’s president of football operations, watched Abraham play in Turkey last week. Abraham could play against Brentford on Sunday but is not registered for Thursday’s Europa League match. Meanwhile, former Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz is set to return on loan from Juventus. Villa sit third in the Premier League, four points behind leaders Arsenal.
