Arsenal missed the chance to stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League after being held to a frustrating draw by Nottingham Forest.
The Gunners finish Saturday still seven points clear, helped by second-placed Manchester City losing to Manchester United, while Aston Villa play on Sunday. Even so, Arsenal were unable to take advantage and struggled to find rhythm in the first half.
Neither side managed a shot on target before the break, with Gabriel Martinelli wasting the best chance when he poked wide from close range. Mikel Arteta, who made three changes to his starting lineup, brought on Bukayo Saka in the second half to spark life into the game. The England winger went close, but Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels made a fine save to deny him.
For Nottingham Forest, the draw was a valuable result as they try to avoid relegation. The point helped keep them four points clear of the drop zone after West Ham’s late win at Tottenham earlier in the day.
