West Ham step back from pursuing £40m striker Strand Larsen

West Ham have cooled their interest in Norway striker Jorgen Strand Larsen after learning Wolves want £40m for the 25-year-old.

The Hammers are still looking to strengthen Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad with a new striker, and Strand Larsen had been their top target. Wolves boss Rob Edwards said the forward could leave, but West Ham think the price is too high. Newcastle previously had £50m and £55m bids rejected over the summer.

West Ham are now exploring alternatives, with Crystal Palace striker Eddie Nketiah reportedly on their radar. Nketiah, 26, has scored four goals in 19 appearances this season but has only started twice in the Premier League.
