Wood Calls Surgery Setback Gutting and Frustrating

0

Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood will be sidelined again after undergoing surgery, describing the setback as “gutting and frustrating”.

The New Zealand international has not played since mid-October due to a knee issue and is yet to feature under new manager Sean Dyche, who replaced Ange Postecoglou. While Wood did not reveal details of the surgery, he has recently been seen wearing a knee brace while attending Forest matches.

The 34-year-old enjoyed an excellent season last year, scoring 20 goals in 40 games to help Forest qualify for European football. This campaign has been tougher, with Wood scoring two goals in nine appearances.

Posting on Instagram, Wood admitted the situation was difficult but remained optimistic, saying the operation was necessary so he can return stronger and help his team in the Premier League and Europe.

His last outing for Forest came in October’s 3-0 loss to Chelsea, which was Postecoglou’s final match in charge.
