Manchester City are close to agreeing a £65m deal with Bournemouth for Antoine Semenyo, but Cherries boss Andoni Iraola says the forward has not played his final game for the club.

Talks over the 25-year-old Ghana international are at an advanced stage, with City ready to trigger his release clause and personal terms close to being finalised ahead of the January transfer window.

Despite the progress, Iraola insists Semenyo will still feature for Bournemouth, starting with Saturday’s match against Arsenal. “He is a massive player for us and he will still be with us. It is definitely not his last game,” the manager said.

Bournemouth want Semenyo to play against Arsenal and Tottenham before his release clause expires on 10 January. While several clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham, are interested, Manchester City are the only team to have made an official move so far.
