Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has apologised to his teammates after his recent public comments, according to midfielder Curtis Jones.
Salah caused a stir after saying he felt he had been “thrown under the bus” by Liverpool and that his relationship with head coach Arne Slot had broken down. He made the remarks after being left out of the squad for the 3-3 draw at Leeds United, following a dip in form. He was then dropped again for a Champions League win at Inter Milan, before returning as a substitute in a home win over Brighton.
Jones said Salah spoke to the squad and cleared the air, apologising if his words upset anyone. He stressed that Salah stayed positive, acted normally around the team, and showed no bad attitude, saying his reaction came from wanting to win.
Despite the controversy and criticism from pundits like Jamie Carragher and Chris Sutton, Liverpool have moved on. Slot has said the issue is settled, and Jones added the squad is united, playing well, and focused on winning games, even as questions remain about Salah’s future with interest from the Saudi Pro League.
