Rachel Daly scored her first two WSL goals of the season as Aston Villa comfortably beat Liverpool 3-0 and extended their opponents’ winless streak.
Liverpool’s night started terribly, with Daly scoring just 27 seconds in after a mistake between Gemma Evans and goalkeeper Faye Kirby.
In-form Kirsty Hanson made it 2-0 before half-time by smashing in a low cross from Chasity Grant.
Villa stayed in control after the break. Maya Hijikata hit the woodwork, and Daly later doubled her tally by reacting quickest to a rebound in the 77th minute.
The loss puts Liverpool boss Gareth Taylor under more pressure, with his team sitting bottom of the WSL and still without a win after 10 games, collecting just four points.
They are now only the fourth team since the league moved to 12 teams in 2019-20 to go winless in their first 10 matches.
Aston Villa stay eighth but move five points clear of Everton. The match, originally set for 21 September, was postponed due to the death of former Liverpool manager Matt Beard.
