Substitute Igor Jesus came on to score a late winner as Nottingham Forest boosted their chances of automatically reaching the Europa League knockout phase with a win at Utrecht.
He scored just 82 seconds after coming off the bench, finishing after Dan Ndoye’s header was parried into his path.
Earlier, Arnaud Kalimuendo had put Forest ahead early in the second half when the ball bounced off him during a clearance and dropped perfectly for him to score.
Forest were on top after that and looked set for a routine victory, but ex-Swansea defender Mike van der Hoorn headed in a free-kick to make it 1-1.
Utrecht then pushed hard for a winner, with Forest leaving spaces as they attacked, but with two minutes left Igor Jesusstruck again to seal Forest’s third win in six European games.
Utrecht stay winless in Europe this season after six games.
