Lando Norris has become Britain’s 11th Formula 1 world champion, fulfilling the promise he showed from a very young age.
The 26-year-old started karting at just eight years old and even took pole position at his first national race.
Norris grew up in Glastonbury after being born in Bristol. His father, Adam, is a multimillionaire who made his wealth in pensions trading, and his family’s support played a big role in helping him progress in motorsport. Norris also has Belgian nationality through his mother, Cisca.
As his racing career took off, school became harder to fit in, so he often had home tutoring. His junior results marked him early as a future F1 champion, and once he reached Formula 1, he quickly showed he had the talent to succeed at the very top.
