Nancy Promises Exciting Football as He Becomes Celtic’s New Manager

Wilfried Nancy has been officially announced as Celtic’s new manager on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

The 48-year-old French coach arrives from MLS side Columbus Crew and will take over on Thursday, replacing interim boss Martin O'Neill.

Nancy’s first match will be a top-of-the-table clash against Hearts at Celtic Park, followed by Europa League opponents Roma and the League Cup final against St Mirren the week after.

He says he can’t wait to get started and wants to bring “exciting, attacking, winning football” to the club.

Nancy praised Celtic as a massive club with real history and high standards, and says he knows what the fans expect.

Celtic have been searching for a permanent manager since Brendan Rodgers resigned in October, with O’Neill stepping in temporarily and winning every domestic game since.

Nancy also thanked O'Neill and Shaun Maloney for their work, saying he has “total respect and gratitude” for both.
