The Detroit Lions boosted their play-off chances with a 44-30 win over the Dallas Cowboys at Ford Field.
Jahmyr Gibbs scored three touchdowns, and quarterback Jared Goff threw for 309 yards and a touchdown.
The Lions, who had been struggling recently, now have an 8-5 record and sit third in their division. Goff said the team felt like they were “back to being themselves.”
Dallas came into the game on a three-game winning streak, but this loss hurts their chances of making the play-offs. They almost made a comeback, cutting the Lions’ lead to just three points at one stage, but Gibbs scored two more touchdowns to seal the win.
Gibbs’ performance also tied him with NFL legend Barry Sanders for the most touchdowns scored by a player before turning 24.
Lions coach Dan Campbell praised his team’s focus and effort.
Next, the Lions face the Los Angeles Rams on 14 December, while the Cowboys play the Minnesota Vikings on 15 December.
