Joshua’s Weight Revealed as Paul Fight Undercard Announced

0

Anthony Joshua has made weight for his upcoming fight against Jake Paul, just over two weeks before the bout. The British heavyweight will face the YouTuber-turned-boxer on 19 December in Miami in a six-round match.

Joshua, 36, must not weigh more than 111kg (17st 7lb) for the fight, and he stepped on the scales at 110.6kg, showing he’s on track. “They must have forgot. I’m used to dealing with big weights and scales,” he joked on social media.

The fight has drawn attention because of the big weight difference. Paul, 28, usually fights at cruiserweight, while Joshua is a former two-time heavyweight world champion. Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, revealed that Paul’s team initially wanted Joshua to weigh even less before settling on the 111kg limit.

Heavyweights usually don’t cut weight, and Paul’s heaviest fight was 103kg (16st 3lb) against Mike Tyson last year. Both fighters will wear standard 10oz gloves for the bout.
