RKC Waalwijk right-back Jordi Altena will join Scottish Premiership leaders Heart of Midlothian on 1 January for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old, who previously played for Vitesse Arnhem and has over 50 senior appearances, has signed a deal running until the end of the 2028-29 season.
The move still needs approval from the Scottish FA and international clearance, but Altena could play in Hearts’ next match at home against Livingston on Saturday.
Hearts manager Derek McInnes said the signing is a positive start to the transfer window. “We already have a strong squad, but I’ve said before we needed to strengthen in some areas. Bringing Jordi in does that. He has the qualities to succeed here, and I hope his style of play will excite our fans,” he added.
