Pep Guardiola says things are finally improving at Manchester City but insists he hasn’t performed any magic to turn their season around. After City’s hard-fought 2-1 win at Nottingham Forest, Guardiola said the “fog” around the team has lifted, even though he believes managers cannot instantly fix problems.
The victory briefly sent City back to the top of the Premier League before Arsenal regained first place. City are now just two points behind after a difficult period that saw them win only once in 13 matches, suffer five straight defeats, and crash out of the Champions League early to Real Madrid.
Guardiola explained that recovery takes time and rejected the idea that managers can simply “click their fingers” to solve everything. He admitted something had been missing around the club last season but stressed that blame should not fall on individuals.
