Guardiola doubts it’s just a two-team title Race

0

Pep Guardiola has questioned the idea that this season’s Premier League title race is only between Manchester City and Arsenal.

Arsenal moved five points clear at the top after a 4-1 win over Aston Villa, while Villa dropped further behind in third. City can cut the gap back to two points if they beat Sunderland on Thursday.

When asked if it was now a two-team race, Guardiola replied: “Are you sure?” He pointed out how quickly opinions change, adding that it is too early to rule teams in or out.

Liverpool are fourth but sit 13 points behind Arsenal, making their title defence difficult. City, who ended 2025 with an eight-game winning run, now face a tough away match against Sunderland, who are unbeaten at home this season and sit seventh in the table.

Guardiola warned that Sunderland will be a difficult challenge but said his team are ready for the test.
