Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has tipped Brazil as the team most likely to win the FIFA World Cup 2026. He believes Brazil, now coached by Carlo Ancelotti, has everything needed to lift the trophy.
However, Ferguson says Portugal, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, could be the team capable of stopping Brazil and winning the World Cup instead. In his view, whoever manages to beat Brazil will likely go on to win the tournament.
Speaking to Press Box PR, Ferguson recalled his time working with Brazilian twins Rafael and Fabio at Manchester United, saying Brazil always stands out to him at World Cups. He also referenced the last tournament, where Argentina beat France in the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar, featuring stars Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
