Former Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu is set to join Ajax on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
The Japan international is due to have a medical on Tuesday after becoming a free agent earlier this year. Arsenal and Tomiyasu agreed to end his contract early in the summer following new defensive signings, which limited his chances of regular football.
After recovering from knee surgery and returning to training, the 27-year-old is now ready to restart his career in Amsterdam, with Ajax currently fourth in the Eredivisie.
