Chelsea bounced back in style by beating Roma 6-0 at Stamford Bridge, moving up to third in the Champions League league phase.

After struggling against Everton on Sunday, Chelsea needed some luck to break Roma’s defence when Valentina Bergamaschi accidentally headed the ball into her own net.

Chelsea pushed for a second goal and finally got it when Keira Walsh sent a brilliant cross to Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, who set up Wieke Kaptein to score.
Just before half-time, Rytting Kaneryd struck again at the back post to make it 3-0, finishing after Sam Kerr had a shot saved.

In the second half, Sjoeke Nusken scored a penalty for 4-0 after a VAR check overturned an earlier foul given against her.
Chelsea’s confidence grew, and substitutes Guro Reiten and Maika Hamano combined for the fifth goal, before Lucy Bronze curled in a cross-shot for the sixth.

The win puts Chelsea on 11 points and up to third, with a chance to secure automatic qualification for the quarter-finals by beating Wolfsburg next.
Roma, with just one point from five games, are now eliminated with one match left.
