Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has played down reports linking him with a future move to Manchester City, insisting the claims are “100% speculation”.
The 45-year-old previously worked as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at City and has been mentioned in reports as a possible successor should Guardiola step down at the end of the season.
Asked about the rumours, Maresca said they had no impact on him and stressed his commitment to Chelsea.
“It doesn’t affect me because I know it is 100% speculation and I don’t have time for these things. I have a contract here until 2029,” he said.
“My focus is just on this club and I am proud to be here. One week ago in Italy it was the same with Juventus. I don’t pay attention to it.”
Maresca added that his attention remains firmly on Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures.
“It’s important to understand why this news was there but it is just speculation. The Newcastle game is important and very difficult.”
