Cameroon legend, Joseph-Antoine Bell, has predicted the outcome of the Super Eagles of Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifying playoff match against DR Congo on Sunday.
Bell is of the opinion that Nigeria would secure a narrow victory over their opponents in Rabat, Morocco.
Both countries will fight it out for a place in the intercontinental playoffs in March 2026, and the former Cameroon international sees Nigeria’s attack as a great asset going into the game.
“Let’s say that for me, Nigeria is a slight favorite. I say this because this team obviously has impressive attacking potential with Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, or Moses Simon, but it exudes real power, and defensively, it is solid,” Bell told Africa Foot.
DAILY POST reported on Thursday that Nigeria beat Gabon 4-1 in the semi-finals to set up a date with DR Congo, who defeated Cameroon 1-0 in the other semi-final game.
There have been concerns about fatigue after the Super Eagles played 120 minutes against Gabon, but Bell dismissed concerns that the extended minutes might take a toll on the players.
“It won’t have any effect. The players have had time to recover,” he insisted.
“I don’t know if there will be many goals in this match, but I think the team that wins will do so with a narrow lead.”
