Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has urged fans to come out in full force on Sunday to support the team in the final of the African World Cup Qualifying Play-off Tournament at the Complexe sportif Prince Héritier Moulay Abdellah.
Adams opened the scoring in Nigeria’s 4–1 semifinal victory over Gabon, with Victor Osimhen and Chidera Ejuke also finding the net after the game went into extra time. The striker could have put his name on the scoresheet as early as the third minute, but his effort was smartly kept out by the goalkeeper.
Nigeria will now face DR Congo in Sunday’s final after the Central African side edged Cameroon 1–0 in stoppage time to book their spot.
The 25-year-old has hit the ground running with the Super Eagles, scoring two goals in his first three appearances for the country.
Calling for strong support, Adams urged fans to turn up in their numbers and bring the energy in the stands, while encouraging those watching from home to keep the team in their prayers.
