Marcus’ Premier League Matchweek 6 Predictions

0

Liverpool’s squad depth showed again — a composed first half put them ahead and they managed the game well under pressure. Everton grew into it after the break but couldn’t finish chances. Liverpool remain perfect early in the season; Slot is already using rotation intelligently.

Brighton matched Spurs’ intensity and punished moments of Spurs’ carelessness; Spurs showed fight to come back. This was more evidence that Spurs still leak goals from transitions even when their attack sparks. Set pieces and counter transitions decided phases.

Burnley’s direct, organised approach met Forest’s work rate and pressing — neither could break clear dominance for long. Both teams picked up a useful point.

West Ham’s early-season slump continued; fan protests and low confidence showed. Palace were clinical from set plays and transition, taking advantage of West Ham’s defensive frailties. Potter’s side look short of ideas and under pressure.

Game swung massively after an early red for Chelsea’s goalkeeper — United took advantage to control the match, though a late red for Casemiro made it nervy. Chelsea’s evening was ruined by early injuries and the sending-off; United steadied to get a morale-boosting win.

A West London derby where Fulham’s resilience and quick response turned the game. Brentford’s defensive errors and inability to manage momentum cost them.

Villa finally scored but still can’t turn performances into wins — Sunderland, down to 10 men at one point, showed resilience and grabbed a point.

A fascinating tactical game — Haaland’s early strike set City up, but Pep used an ultra-defensive shape to protect the lead (rare for him). Arsenal dominated large spells and were rewarded by a stoppage-time lob from Gabriel Martinelli after Eberechi Eze’s introduction changed the game. City’s defensive pragmatism nearly paid off, Arsenal’s persistence earned a point.
