Manchester City booked their place in the semi-finals of the Women's FA Cup with victory over Aston Villa at Joie Stadium.
Top-scorer Khadija Shaw broke the deadlock early in the second half after a frustrating start by City, before Jess Park extended their lead later on.
Villa had looked threatening on the break with Ebony Salmon denied by goalkeeper Ayaka Yamashita midway through the first half.
But City's dominance of possession eventually paid off and they showed more creativity as the match wore on.
Shaw was found by Mary Fowler's precise through ball and the Jamaica international was composed as she rolled the ball over the line.
Cracks in Villa's defence then started to appear more often and City took advantage - Vivianne Miedema teeing up Park to make it 2-0.
It has not been a smooth season for City but they will fancy their chances of getting their hands on a cup trophy, while Villa's attention returns to their battle to remain in the Women's Super League.
