Mowbray named new West Brom boss

West Brom have announced the appointment of Tony Mowbray as the club's new head coach.

The former Birmingham City boss returns to the Hawthorns to replace Carlos Corberan who joined Valencia earlier this month.

The 61-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract and will take charge of his first game when West Brom travel to Middlesbrough on Tuesday.

He'll be assisted by Mark Venus. Chris Brunt will oversee their Championship clash against Stoke this weekend with Mowbray observing from the stands.

Mowbray makes a return to management, after stepping down as Birmingham manager last year following treatment for bowel cancer.
