Inter agree new contract with striker as details of new salary are revealed

Lautaro Martinez will remain at Inter after he agreed to sign a new long-term deal with the club.

Inter officials met the player's agent Alejandro Camano on Friday night where the parties discussed the terms of the new contract after which the Argentina star agreed to put pen to paper, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. Martinez, whose existing contract expires in June 2026, has decided to extend his stay until 2029.

As per the terms of the new deal, the striker is expected to pocket a salary in the region of €9m (£7m/$9m) along with bonuses. A final decision is expected to be taken in the next few days after which Martinez will officially sign the contract extension, barring a late twist.

The Inter captain was in a rich vein of form in the 2023/24 campaign as he scored 27 goals across all competitions and provided seven assists in 44 appearances, as Inter won Serie A and the Supercoppa Italiana.
