Phillips joins West Ham on loan for rest of season

Kalvin Phillips has completed a loan move to West Ham from Manchester City until the end of the season.

Phillips has made 31 appearances for City since a £45m transfer from Leeds in July 2022 and Pep Guardiola admitted in December he cannot envisage the England midfielder in his team.

The 28-year-old leaves the Etihad on a temporary basis and there is no option for West Ham to sign him permanently in the summer

West Ham will pay a loan fee and cover Phillips' salary for the duration of his time at the London Stadium.

"I'm really pleased to be here," said Phillips after his signing was confirmed.

"There's always been a lot of speculation about me moving to West Ham, so I'm really excited to get going now. There's so much to look forward to in the second half of the season for the club and I can't wait to be part of it.
